About
What is RuneWire?
RuneWire is a microblogging service aimed at Runescape players. RuneWire works for any type of Runescape player. Whether you are a maxed out character, pure, standard player, or someone who has just started out playing, our service will provide you an instant way to share information with others. Not only do we allow you to post what you are doing on Runescape at instantly, you can upload screenshots as well!
Our service also aims to let you track what your friends are doing on Runescape. By clicking on Friends Activity on the right hand navigation panel, you will be presented with everything that everyone on your friends list has been doing.
How was RuneWire created?
RuneWire was created by three people who have all played Runescape at some point in their lives. It was provided with the intent of allowing people to quickly state what they were going to do in Runescape, without having the hassle of creating a full blown blog posting.
We created it from a technical standpoint using a LAMP architecture. As stated previously RuneWire uses PHP as it's main scripting language, however, we do also use AHAH for some tasks.
Who is behind RuneWire?
RuneWire was created by and is powered by Runescape Bits & Bytes. RuneWire was originally concieved by Shane, Jeff, and Mushroom Queen. RuneWire was developed by this same group of people. Shane worked on the major architectural coding and database design, Jeff worked on the XHTML and CSS coding, and finally Mushroom Queen worked on the main web design and content. We also had help from Mike at RSBandB for various parts of the website such as the image uploader and database classes.
